I thought you said you knew like twenty languages or something?
I'll be over after lunch, then.
[ it takes another couple of hours of his professor droning before minjun decides to forego lunch and go find ward.
stepping into the library is always like coming home, sometimes more than his dorm apartment, and minjun always breathes in the scent for a moment before he makes his way over to the front desk. ]
[ if you were to ask anyone on campus, they would tell you in a heartbeat that ward was one of the most cheerful people ever. honestly, ever, not even just on campus, but in general. he always had a smile for people, and a willingness to help, and more knowledge than he should about things that are obscure (especially considering that he was on a sports scholarship of all things, but he could also swim). but he was cheerful. helpful. and also one hundred percent a demon.
but like, details.
he grins at minjun as he comes in, and you would swear he was a hellhound with the way you could all but see a tail wagging at the other's approach.]
Minnie! Hi! Here. [ he bounces (yes, bounces) over, two books in protective casing in his hands. he slides them over to minjun, tapping his fingers on the cover (wow, he needed to repaint his nails, they were awful).] The second one also came in, on Middle Eastern dispelling rituals, that one I can read no problem if you have any issues. The Slavic one... well you might be on your own.
[ if minjun wasn't already aware of ward's identity, perhaps he would have been wary of him, with the way he knew more about odd topics than your regular jock should. hell, being in the library wasn't exactly somewhere you'd expect to find someone like ward, but he's a constant, breaking all the stereotypes there is. minjun admires it.
and ward being a demon isn't news to him, considering he accidentally summoned him once, and... well.
details.
he can't help his lips twitching into a vague smile as ward wags his imaginary tail at him, and he quickly averts his eyes, gently tugging open the cover to one of the books. ]
Mm, I think I'll be fine. I know someone who knows Slavic.
[ it's a little old lady that usually frequents his sad excuse for a dorm balcony. she's nice enough, and doesn't stare at him through the window when he tries to sleep. she hasn't told him how she died yet. she will, though, most of them do. ]
[ ward is the kind of person that would tell you that stereotypes exist to be broken. he enjoys making people question things, standards that have gone too long without question. he was often told that he was too kind hearted to be a demon, a cardinal of all things, but he would argue otherwise. he was what he needed to be when he needed to be it, and right now-- he needed to be ward, energetic and helpful ward.
the grin stays on his face as he leans against the counter, eyes on minjun so he catches the almost smile.]
Mmm, you do? That's good. You know if you need any help with some things, I'm here right?
[ he isn't sure he says it often enough, or maybe minjun just doesn't believe him. he waves off the thanks.]
It's no problem at all. But I mean it, if you need help...
[ minjun is aware he looks like a stereotype, that he behaves like half of one too. he doesn't care what people think of him, however. he's just minjun, and he's perfectly settled with that. ]
You're staring.
[ he looks up to catch ward's eyes in turn, unblinking, unaware that his mouth is still stretched into that vague smile. a rush of warmth travels down his spine as ward grins at him and minjun takes a breath before it settles somewhere at the small of his back. ]

Help with what, the Slavic that you don't know?
